I'm doing a computer sim on the 1995-6 playoffs (Super Bowl year against Dallas), and I was wondering if anyone remembered what happened to him that year? He never caught a pass after the 13th game. Was he injured? Benched? Just remarkably ineffective? All of the above? Was he even active for the playoffs?

Yeah, I remember him but don't know the reason he didn't catch any passes after the 13th game but my guess is he may have been injured or teams were paying more attention to him to take him out of the offensive scheme.
If I remember correctly he was a good receiver not great but good.
Since we are talking receivers how about Yancey Thigpen, I thought he was very good and reminded me of Hines Ward a little the go to guy back then.
That Super Bowl was very disappointing since the Steelers were dominating Dallas in the second half and were running the ball on them at will but decided to get out of what they were doing well and Woop der it is INT Neil O dollar!

CJ was injured. He was a good WR and a former 1st round pick.

Super Bowl XXX: Bad communication between the back-up WR's and O'Donnell. Charles Johnson was out/injured, and when E.Mills left the game due to injury, that left a glaring weakness - Corey Holliday.

It also left another glaring weakness... Kneel O'Dollar.

Yancey was one of my favs, and you're right, Supe... there was a "Hines-like" quality to him. He wasn't the physical presence that Hines was, but like Ward, he was an over-achiever with a lot of heart who first made a name for himself with excellent special teams play. I was pretty bummed when Thiggy left for Tennessee.

When Yancey bolted for TEN, I believe he became the highest paid WR in the NFL at the time. I recall reading a story about how the TEN coaches and players were working on him at the pro-bowl that offseason trying to get him to jump ship to them. He did, and that was essentially the end of his NFL career. That sucked for him, and sucked for us. He sure had a couple of terrific seasons in black and gold.

Yancey Thigpen= Hamstring and other muscle type injuries. I recall him missing a lot of games.
